Kingston Transit (KT) buses will not service the KGH site between start of service and approximately 5 pm on Sunday, Sept. 3.

With Queen’s University students moving into residence Sunday, Sept. 3, it’s expected that streets in the vicinity of the KGH site will be packed solid with cars from 8 a.m. until 4-5 p.m.  As a result, Kingston Transit (KT) buses will not service the KGH site between start of service and approximately 5 pm on Sunday, Sept. 3.

What you need to know:

  • Kingston Transit routes (including Express) will not be able to provide regular service to KGH on Sunday, Sept. 3.  Most routes that service KGH (the 1, 2, 3, 18, 501, and 502) will be shifted up to use Brock/Johnson instead of Union, King, and Stuart.  The 601 and 602 will only go as far as Bagot/West before looping back downtown. 
  • A shuttle service to/from KGH will be available from the Downtown Transfer Point.  Please ride your regular route to the Downtown Transfer Point and catch the shuttle on the west side of Bagot, north of Brock (outside CIBC).
  • Riders can also walk to KGH from stops at Brock/Johnson Streets and University Ave. (All buses, including Express, will be directed to stop at University in both directions.)
  • Because it cannot predict the level of traffic (and ensuing congestion) in the Queen’s district, KT cannot provide a schedule for the shuttle but will do its best to run the shuttle as often as possible.
  • KT will try to use an accessible bus for the shuttle service (as in past years) but it may be forced to switch to a non-accessible vehicle based on the level of congestion and traffic.
