Outbreak, masking and infection control updates

Masking Guidelines at KHSC - Updated January 30 2026

We will continue to monitor test positivity, high-risk exposures, and outbreaks, and will adjust control measures as indicated/needed.

What You Need to Know
  • Masking remains fully supported.  Anyone - staff, patients, caregivers, or visitors- who choose to wear a mask will continue to have access to appropriate personal protective equipment such as masks.
  • Staff must don a mask when caring for a patient who is masked, in both inpatient and ambulatory/outpatient settings.
  • Patients with respiratory illnesses and/or symptoms, must wear a mask when entering KHSC sites to help protect others.
  • Visitors with respiratory illnesses symptoms are asked to postpone their visit until they are feeling better.

Outbreak Information

Infection Prevention and Control, in collaboration with South East Public Health, has declared a COVID-19 outbreak on the following units:

  • Connell 3 - March 6, 2026

The units remain open to admissions at this time.
