Effective immediately masking is required for everyone when present on all inpatient units, in the Emergency Department (ED), the Urgent Care Centre (UCC), and the Children’s Outpatient Centre (COPC).
KHSC is built on the foundation of two proud hospitals – Hotel Dieu Hospital and Kingston General Hospital. Each of our hospital sites has a rich history and culture of its own, which the KHSC board has agreed to honour as part of an Operating Agreement that serves as the foundation for the integration.
As required by the Operating Agreement, each site’s legacy mission, aim, values and guiding principles will also continue to be preserved, while the new KHSC mission and values will guide the corporation as a whole. Our integration presents both an exciting opportunity to provide the complete scope of acute, academic patient care as one hospital corporation, while honouring the pride we have in our legacies.
