How to get to the Kidney Program

We have many safety precautions in place to protect our patients and staff from COVID-19 including limits on family presence, screening at entry points, and use of masks or face coverings. If you have an upcoming appointment at this clinic, we ask you to review our safety measures prior to your upcoming visit in order to ensure you are prepared. Click here to learn more.

The Kidney Program of South Eastern Ontario is located at the Kingston General Hospital (KGH) site in the Burr Wing. All patients must register at the Burr 0 registration desk when they arrive for an appointment. The patient registration desk is located just inside the main doors on King Street.

The Kidney Program’s main entrance is 25 King Street West.

The two closest entrances are:

  • The George Street entrance
  • The King Street entrance

Parking

If you are a dialysis patient at KGH, you will receive a blue parking permit at or before your first appointment. This blue permit will allow you to take advantage of special discounted parking rates and use reserved dialysis parking spaces in the Gastrointestinal Diseases Research Unit (GIDRU) parking lot. However, it’s important to remember that these spots are only for dialysis appointments and not to be used for any other appointments that may require you to visit the hospital.

This lot is located off of George Street and has 14 spaces in the lower section of the lot that you may use. There are also two accessible spaces in lower area of the lot if you require one.

To use the dialysis spaces:

  • You must first purchase a parking receipt from the Pay & Display machines in either the GIDRU lot or Ann Baillie lot. Select the time option before inserting your payment. The machine accepts coins and credit cards (Visa or MasterCard).
  • Leave both your blue permit and parking receipt on your dashboard.
  • Please use the GIDRU entrance into KGH and follow the signage to the Dialysis unit.

Cost $1.00 / hour or $5.00 daily maximum

There are also numerous paid parking and street parking options available around the Kingston General Hospital site. To see a full list of your parking options, please click here.
