
Suzanne McGurn
Suzanne McGurn is the President and Chief Executive Officer at Canada’s Drug Agency. She leads the organization to deliver credible, objective evidence to inform decisions about the best use of drugs and health technologies in Canada. She joined the organization in 2020.
She spent over 15 years working in clinical care as a registered nurse in a variety of roles, including in the Kingston hospitals, the KFL&A home care program and serving as the Executive Director of the Alzheimer Society of Kingston before moving to work in the Ontario Public Service government. During her nearly 20 years in government, she held various roles including assistant deputy minister positions within the Ontario public service, focusing on the public drug program, health human resources, and correctional services.
Throughout her career, Suzanne has developed strong relationships with patients, healthcare providers, government officials across the country, and other health system partners. Her diverse experience as a clinical and senior leader has provided her with a deep understanding of the complexities in Canada’s health systems.
Suzanne is a graduate of Queen’s University Nursing Program and the Professional Master of Public Administration.
