Ben McIlquham

Ben McIlquham is an economic development professional dedicated to advancing Kingston’s health and life sciences sector. With over 18 years of experience across government, healthcare, non-profit, and industry environments, Ben brings a strong track record in business development, strategic partnerships, and foreign direct investment attraction.

Born in Kingston and a graduate of the University of Western Ontario, Ben is recognized for his leadership in managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects. He currently serves with the Kingston Economic Development Corporation, where he focuses on positioning Kingston as a premier destination for life sciences innovation, growth, and investment.

Ben also represents Kingston as a lead liaison in the Kingston Syracuse Pathway, fostering cross-border collaboration and helping companies enter and expand into new markets.

Ben serves on the Board of Directors for Ontario East Economic Development, supporting regional efforts to attract investment and strengthen economic opportunities across Eastern Ontario.

Ben’s background includes extensive experience in healthcare procurement and operations. He previously held roles at Shared Support Services Southeastern Ontario (3SO) and the Ministry of Government Services, where he oversaw contract portfolios and managed strategic sourcing initiatives that advanced hospital performance and healthcare delivery.

With a unique blend of public and private sector insight, Ben brings valuable perspective to KHSC’s work in driving innovation, enhancing patient care, and building an integrated healthcare system.
