Our obstetrics clinic provides care for pregnant patients and their fetuses. The clinic monitors the health of both parent and baby through regular checkups, tests and ultrasounds, and addresses any concerns that may arise during pregnancy.

New patients may be required to provide a urine sample during their initial consult. Please come with a full bladder and hold if able.

- your appointment slip which includes the time and date of your appointment.
- your health card
- a complete, current list of your medications provided to you by your pharmacist OR all current medications in their original drugstore container (includes insulin, inhalers, prescribed creams or eye drops, non-prescription medications or supplements such as herbals and vitamins)
What you can expect
- KHSC is a teaching hospital, there may be student nurses or doctors involved in your care
- Our team will conduct regular checkups and tests to monitor the health of both the parent and fetus. A regular checkup could include blood pressure, measuring weight, abdominal exams, vaginal swabs, or bloodwork.
- The clinic provides guidance, support, and treatment to help promote a healthy pregnancy and birth experience. You will have an opportunity to ask questions about pregnancy, labour and newborn care.
- Patients will return home after their appointment.
