Ontario Institute of Radio Therapy (Kingston Division)

In 1932 Kingston was selected by the Provincial Health Ministry to be one of three Ontario sites for a radio therapy institute for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer which was formally opened on March 3, 1933. The provincial government supplied funding of $9,000 a year for ten years and the required radium whilst the Hospital supplied the clinic space and staff.
