Preparing to leave

Once your examination is complete the technologist, radiologist or registered nurse will inform you of any post-procedure precautions or care required. Your technologist will also tell you when you are free to leave. Please ensure you have all your valuables and clothing items with you when you leave the hospital.

The results of your exam may not be immediately available, as your images or test results will be interpreted or “read” by a staff radiologist following the exam.  This may take a few hours or more, depending on the type of imaging examination you have had. The results of your exam will be given to your doctor or primary health care (either your family doctor or a specialist) provider who will share the results with you. If you would like a personal copy of your examination results, please inquire at the Imaging Services reception desk.
